Legal Education

At Des Voeux Chambers, we believe that excellence in legal practice is inseparable from excellence in legal education. Our commitment to advancing legal knowledge extends beyond the courtroom into the academic sphere, where we actively contribute to shaping the next generation of legal practitioners and scholars. Our members maintain extensive academic appointments at leading universities across Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland, and internationally. We foster collaboration between practice and academia through our Academic Associates programme, visiting fellowships, scholarship initiatives, and ongoing educational programmes. This integrated approach ensures that cutting-edge legal developments in practice inform academic discourse, while scholarly rigour enhances the quality of our advocacy and advisory work.

Legal Education

DVC Academic Associates

In 2026, Des Voeux Chambers launched its Academic Associates membership, a pioneering initiative designed to strengthen the vital connection between legal practice and academic scholarship. The programme invites distinguished legal academics to join our Chambers as Academic Associates, creating a platform for meaningful exchange between practitioners and scholars.

Academic Associates contribute to our intellectual life through collaboration, participation in Chambers seminars and events, and engagement with our members on matters of legal theory and practice.

Professor Jordan English – Our First Academic Associate
