The public law practice primarily involves challenges against decisions made by public bodies, including various governmental departments, statutory tribunals, and quasi-public institutions such as universities.

DVC members have acted in many landmark judicial reviews for both applicants and respondents (i.e., the HKSAR government or public bodies).

Members are especially renowned for their experience in commercial judicial review cases (such as those relating to the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong), and in public inquiries and inquests.
