Euchine has a broad civil and commercial practice encompassing company and insolvency matters, trusts and property, bankruptcy, public law, intellectual property, and a wide spectrum of other civil and commercial disputes, with particular experience in civil fraud, asset recovery claims and financial mis-selling disputes. She appears regularly in courts both as a sole advocate and as a led junior.

Apart from civil litigation in court, Euchine has been involved in a range of commercial arbitrations and arbitration-related court proceedings.

Prior to joining chambers, Euchine obtained First Class Honours in both her BA in Law and LLM at the University of Cambridge. She joined Des Voeux Chambers in 2019 upon completion of pupillage with Mr. Derek Chan SC, Mr. Anson Wong SC, Mr. Christopher Chain (now Mr. Christopher Chain SC), Mr. John Hui  and  Mr. Johnny Ma (now Mr. Johnny Ma SC).

Euchine is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, and has experience in drafting legal documents in Chinese.

  • The Incorporated Owners of Sun Hing Building v Join Profit (Hong Kong) Limited & Another [2022] HKLdT 56; [2024] HKCA 589 – trial and appeal involving construction and implication of agreement between incorporated owners and shop-owners to in effect swap certain shop space with common parts of the building (led by Mr. Anson Wong SC)
  • New Castle Investments Limited v WFC Holding Limited [2020] HKCFI 537; [2020] HKCFI 829; [2020] HKCA 755; [2021] HKCFA 5 – resisting application to set aside default judgment (with Mr. Michael Lok); and on appeal (led by Mr. Edward Chan SC and with Mr. Michael Lok)
  • Phillip Doodt & Others v Huang Shihua & Others [2021] HKCFI 305 – successfully resisted application for security for costs against foreign plaintiffs on grounds of merits and stifling of the plaintiffs’ claim and on appeal; successfully obtained summary judgment on liability (as sole advocate)

  • Zeus Aircraft Owner 2 Limited & Another v Polar Pay Limited [2023] HKDC 1674 – successfully defended action brought by victims of email fraud against a licensed Money Service Operator; established good faith relying on common industry practice known as “settlement approach” and guidelines issued pursuant to the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (Cap. 615) (with Mr. Christopher Chain, now Mr. Christopher Chain SC)

Fraud, Tracing and Trusts

  • Chan Wai Lung v Lee Shu Yen & Another [2024] HKCFI 2664 – successfully resisted application to discharge undertakings given in lieu of injunction and obtained order for payment into court and indemnity costs against the defendants (as sole advocate)
  • 800 Columbia Project Company, LLC v Various Defendants (HCA 149, 153, 156, 164 & 393/2020)
    • successfully obtained a series of urgent ex parte Mareva and proprietary injunctions against a total of 21 recipients of stolen funds in a cyber fraud scheme involving US$5.7 million; and disclosure order against the defendants’ banks (as sole advocate)
    • [2020] 3 HKLRD 674; [2020] HKCFI 1527 – successfully obtained monetary and declaratory reliefs against various recipients of the fraudulent funds in default of defence (as sole advocate)

  • Commercial Arbitration – HKIAC Rules – contractual dispute arising out of patent license agreement, involving issues concerning FRAND obligations under the agreement and PRC law (led by Mr. José Maurellet SC with Ms. Ellen Pang)
