Profile

Alex is a Bar Scholar and a Middle Temple Scholar. He joined Chambers after completing pupillage with Mr Christopher Chain SC, Mr Marco Li, Mr John Hui and Mr Justin Lam. He is developing a broad civil practice and accepts instructions in all areas of work.

In his first year of practice, Alex appeared as sole advocate before the Court of Appeal, the Court of First Instance and the District Court for various substantive applications including injunctions, insolvency proceedings, summary judgment and striking out. He also acted as co-counsel on behalf of a listed company in an HKIAC arbitration conducted in Mandarin.

Prior to joining Chambers, Alex obtained the BBA(Law) and LLB degrees from HKU (ranking first overall in both), and the BCL from Oxford. He was awarded multiple scholarships for academic excellence, including the HSBC Overseas Scholarship and the DVC Junior Scholarship. Alex has also published in peer-reviewed journals in the areas of trusts and competition law. He is currently appointed as a part-time lecturer (non-clinical) in HKU teaching Equity & Trusts, having also served in that role during his postgraduate studies.

Alex is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. He is experienced in preparing legal documents and submissions in both simplified and traditional Chinese.
