Des Voeux Chambers is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Sammy Koo as a strategic advisor for Chambers, effective from 18 March 2024.
Sammy brings a wealth of experience from her recent retirement as a Partner of Ernst & Young’s Strategy and Transactions division. With over 23 years of expertise in turnaround and insolvency services, she successfully led a diverse team of professionals and managed EY’s Debt & Capital Advisory practice in Hong Kong. Sammy is highly regarded for her specialized knowledge in areas such as turnarounds and insolvencies, exit and divestment strategies, systematic risk, and sustainable development strategies.
Sammy holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from a renowned University in the UK. She is a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“HKICPA”) and CPA Australia, as well as a member of the International Insolvency Institute and INSOL International. Additionally, she has been appointed by the HKSAR Government as a panel member on various appeals boards and tribunals, including the Resolvability Review Tribunal of the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau, the Municipal Services Appeals Board, and the Securities and Futures Appeals Tribunal.
