The 4th Annual Young Members Group (YMG) Conference of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators East Asia Branch (CIArb EAB), the annual flagship event for CIArb’s young members in Hong Kong, concluded this Friday. DVC Catrina Lam joined Panel Session 2 of the Day 1 Programme, moderated by Ronald Pang from Pantheon Chambers. Other panellists included Helen Au from Pacific Chambers and Sui Hang Hui from Sidley Austin LLP.
Following the recent introduction of the Legal Practitioners Legislation (Outcome Related Fee Structures for Arbitrations) (Amendment) Bill 2022, outcome related fee structure arrangements (“ORFAs”) are now permitted in Hong Kong. The panellists shared practical tactics, and discussed how this development may impact young professionals and what opportunities are in stall for them to build a career in this area.
