“The Chief Executive has appointed Douglas Lam SC as Chairperson of the newly established Insurance Appeals Tribunal, which has been set up to review decisions made by the Insurance Authority. Decisions which may come under review fall on different points of the spectrum, and can include by way of example the refusal to grant authorisation to carry on an insurance business as well as the exercise of power to take disciplinary action.
Douglas Lam SC’s appointment is for 3 years and will take effect from 26 July 2017 and will end on 25 July 2020.”
