In a first-time collaboration between DVC and Dentons Shenzhen, a joint presentation was held on 10 December 2019, on the topic of well-known trademarks. Speakers from Dentons (Ms. Wang Haifeng, Mr. Zhao Long and Mr. Christopher Zhang) shared their insights on PRC trademark law. Then, in a lively and interactive presentation, DVC’s CW Ling and Sakinah Sat took the participants on a whirlwind tour around the world, exploring the tension between free speech and the rights of IP right owners under the laws of Hong Kong, PRC, US, UK and EU. The audience were enchanted by the colourful graphics, amusing stories and even a music video taken from case examples.
