The Society of Construction Law Hong Kong’s latest event on Career Development and Opportunities in Construction Law for Junior Members was successfully held on 12 April 2023.
Calvin Cheuk from DVC moderated the panel discussion and Kaiser Leung joined as a panelist, alongside Yang Liu of Secretariat in Hong Kong and Jessica Chan of Charlton Martin.
In their discussion, the panelists shared their experiences as junior construction professionals and how they identified and pursued career opportunities (including changing disciplines). The panel also discussed the role of mentors in career development and the impact of continued education on securing new opportunities.
Following the panel discussion, participants engaged in interactive discussions on a variety of topics, including career advice from the panelists for aspiring junior construction professionals and the perceived impact of the implementation of the adjudication scheme in Hong Kong on the construction industry.
