Last Tuesday (14 Dec), Cherry Xu from Des Voeux Chambers was invited to attend HKIAC Shanghai Office Open Day 2023 and deliver a lunchtime seminar on the topic of “Why Arbitration? Why Hong Kong”.
This event is aimed at law school students and young practitioners in the arbitration field in Shanghai, with the goal of promoting a general understanding of the HKIAC’s role in arbitration in Hong Kong. By having arbitration experts share their experience, the event allows the participants to gain a deeper understanding of the role played by Hong Kong in resolving disputes involving Chinese and foreign parties and in particular why HKIAC is best suited to handle disputes arising from the Belt and Road initiative.
