On 8 October, a roundtable discussion was successfully held at the DVC Conference Centre as part of the 2024 Senior Foreign-Related Lawyers Training Program. This Training Program is co-hosted by the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, the Justice Bureau of Futian District of Shenzhen Municipality, and the Justice Bureau of Jing’an District of Shanghai Municipality. It is co-organized by Asian Academy of International Law (AAIL), the AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre, and the School of Law of City University of Hong Kong.
Moderated by Adrian Lai JP, Deputy Secretary-General of AAIL, the session featured Frances Lok SC, Ling Chun Wai, Connie Lee, and Alexander Tang from Des Voeux Chambers. They delved into the differences in civil litigation procedures between Hong Kong and Mainland China, focusing on topics such as service of documents, pleadings, evidence and the involvement of third parties. Their sharing sparked enthusiastic responses and fostered engaging discussions among attendees, with participants posing insightful questions and sharing relevant experiences.
The roundtable discussion was well attended by over 30 senior lawyers from Mainland China.
