On 27 July 2024, Valerie Kwok (one of our present pupils who has accepted our offers to join Chambers as tenants, following successful completion of their pupillages) attended the “Access Abroad HK (AAHK) x Caritas Youth and Community Service Careers Programme“.
During this Saturday afternoon, Valerie shared her experience as a law graduate and a pupil barrister with aspiring law students who are current students from local Band 1 Hong Kong secondary schools, particularly those from non-fee paying schools (government, aided, caput), and / or receiving government aid.
AAHK is a student-led registered charity which strives to widen access to Oxford, Cambridge, and other top UK universities for less-privileged local students from Hong Kong. To do so, they focus on surmounting gaps in information, resources, and aspirations, empowering students from underrepresented backgrounds to access a life-changing education abroad.
During her student days at Oxford, Valerie served as Head of Operation and Outreach of AAHK.
