A woman’s leadership journey is very different from that of a man. On 22 September, at the Women in Leadership Luncheon co-hosted by Sidley Austin LLP’s Women’s Network and Women In Law Hong Kong (WILHK), Winnie Tam SBS SC JP from Des Voeux Chambers, Qian Liu from The Economist, Maaike Steinebach from Visa, Stephanie Sheng from Goldman Sachs and Yan Zhang from Sidley Austin LLP shared their unique experiences in advancing to senior positions, their views on the progress of promoting women in the workforce, and the strategies to build successful careers in the changing work environment.
With more than a hundred and fifty participants joining the event in person and online, the panellists’ authentic sharing of their stories resonated with the audience. In particular, it brought out the importance of having support from other women and men in the workplace, as well as from family, partners, and society as a whole. The luncheon ended with an enthusiastic interaction between the audience and speakers at the Q&A session.
